API Q & A

Hello Members,

We are happy to announce that registration is now open and running smoothly, with one exception outlined below.
We have received a few questions regarding the API fee and the checkout process and wanted to provide some clarification.

API Fee Questions

What is the API?
The API is the connection between Ramp and the Hockey Canada Registry. It is used to validate player eligibility and collect required Hockey Canada waivers.

Who is charging this fee?
Hockey Canada has implemented a mandatory $5 per participant fee for all registrations processed through the Hockey Canada API. This fee is separate from all other Hockey Canada membership fees.

Checkout Questions

What if I pay by credit card?
If you pay by credit card, the process is straightforward. You will enter your credit card information once, and both the registration fee and the $5 API fee will be processed at the same time (as separate charges in the background).

What if I want to pay my registration fee by another method (cash, cheque, etc.)?
In this case, you will see two separate payment sections:

Click to view Diagram 1: Select your preferred payment method (cash/cheque) for the registration fee. This balance will remain owing.

Click to view Diagram 2: Enter your credit card information to pay the $5 API fee only. This fee must be paid online by CC or Visa/Mastercard Debit for your registration to go through.

Please note: the $5 API fee is processed separately from your registration fee.

Thank you,

Jackie
